So now that Twin Crystals and B-Lines are only 2 days away, and we’ve finalized the 3rd band on the bill (Stamina Mantis!) PLUS we have a sweet poster thanks to James Nakagawa… I might as well write another post so that you have another reason to get even more hyped than you already were before reading this.

Big news! Twin Crystals, B-lines and one more band (TBA) play the Biltmore on November 5th! Not many more details mustered up at the moment, more to follow, but for now mark your calendars and stay tuned. This is going to be a great show!

Thanks to everyone that came out to the Biltmore for Smooth Sailing on Friday night, it was a huge success and I hope everyone had as much fun as we did! All 12 bands were phenomenal and they made the night run like clockwork. The Margaritas and Piña Coladas were drained, the Toast Collective hosted a great after party, and nobody drowned as far as I’m aware. At the end of the night we had about 100 votes in the ballot box which was more than enough to tally up the winners (keep reading to find out who they are.)

The Winners

In 3rd place we have MT-40, receivers of a mind blowing really smooth music vinyl collection!

In 2nd place, the runners-up were B-Lines, who will get a free night at the Howard Johnson Biltmore hotel!

And the 1st place winners of Smooth Sailing were…. The Greff Band, who win a boat rental at Sewells Marina out in Horseshoe Bay!!

Congratulations to all the bands! Friday night was epic, and I hope we can do it again.

This is probably going to be the most anticipated event of your summer. 12 local Vancouver bands will be gracing the Biltmore stage performing 2-3 song cover sets of really smooth music (yacht rock). Think: Toto, Kenny Loggins, Hall & Oates, Chicago, Christopher Cross… the list goes on and on (and on and on and on). Here are the 12 bands that will have you swimming in smoothness on August 28th (in no particular order):

Big show at the Balmoral this Friday!! Check out the Stolen Minks, the B-Lines and the Mean Jeans! You’ll probably crap your pants if you miss it, so make sure you’re there!

$8 cover at the doors which open at 9pm. This show IS NOT at the Chez Nous Ballroom, it is at the Balmoral which can be found at 159 East Hastings St.

Chez Nous is hosting the most anticipated party of the summer, B-Lines, White Lung and Chris-A-Riffic will blow your toes off, ANNND the theme of the party is: The Internet!! Doors at 9pm, $5 cover.
